A family owned estate in Suffolk

The Estate comprises of pubs, an exclusive use country house and a brewery. The Buckle family who own the Nedging Hall Estate have been in Suffolk since 1988.

Our Founding

The first appearance of Nedging Hall in the local records was in 1487 coinciding with the end of the War of the Roses.

Nedging Hall Estate is now a hospitality business which has grown to include Suffolk’s oldest brewery, two pubs and a holiday guest house.

The Estate itself covers 5,000 acres deep in the beautiful Suffolk countryside located between Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich.

From Estate to Plate

Being positioned in the centre of mixed farmland in Suffolk, we’re in the perfect spot to create a system that allows us to grow our own produce.

Utilising our own produce has meant a significant change to the menus has been required. Developing these menus to flow with the seasons of our Nedging Hall grown produce has been an important project.

The impact this work has on the customer satisfaction levels is clear – we all want to be consuming local and responsibly grown and harvested produce.

“Our chefs and their team work closely with local suppliers and Nedging Hall Estate’s gardening team to create menus that always impress. We are proud to grow many of our own vegetables, fruits and herbs in our kitchen garden at Nedging Hall.”

From Barley to Bottle

Not only producing food, we grow barley on the farm for brewing. This has another one of the initiatives behind the company.

From the barley in the fields to the beer in Nedging Hall Estate’s pubs, Mauldons is one special story.

Our homegrown and produced beers are a favourite among many and it is something we pride to stock on our shelves and serve from the tap.

“Nedging Hall Estate grows its own barley on the farm, which is sent to our very own Mauldon’s Brewery to be crafted into our award-winning beer.”
